Description of Operation

A. Bottles
transfer onto the side of the infeed conveyor. Straight-in
butt connects are optional.
B. Bottles
move in mass through the oscillator. As gaps
are detected, the oscillator agitates bottles,
providing a gentle product division.
C. Bottles
move onto a dead plate, where they are stopped
and timed by overhead brakes.
D. Brakes
E. Pneumatic
Cylinder
F. The
pneumatic overhead brakes release each group
of product onto the riding strips.
G. Riding
Strips |
H. When
the riding strips are full and a case is in place,
sensors activate a shift of the riding strips,
allowing the bottles to funnel through the grid
fingers and into the case.
I. The
pneumatic "air-over-oil" lift table
will move the empty case up and the full
case down onto the take-away conveyor.
J. Hydraulic
Lift Table
K. Case
L. Grid
M. Dead
Plate
N. Cases
move back-to-back up the case conveyor. A
low level indicator will initiate a soft
stop. The machine will restart as cases are
supplied. |
Snap-in
Grid Basket
|
|
Standard-Knapp
introduced the packaging industry to grid-style
case packers and has since developed and advanced
the grid and grid finger technology. Fingers may
be plastic or stainless steel, depending upon the
application.
The "snap-in
grid basket" eliminates the need for hoists
and allows one case packer attendant to remove
and replace the grid during changeover. This system
is fast and efficient. The "roll-in caddie" design
makes changeover simple by allowing the grid to
roll in and snap up into place.
